Cape Town - In just under three months, South Africa prepares to crown yet another local beauty as our new Miss South Africa and Huisgenoot, YOU, DRUM and MOVE! are preparing to take you along on the journey as this year’s official media partner.

You could be the next lucky lady to take this year’s crown at the glittering pageant which is set to take place on Women’s Day on Friday, 9 August at Sun Internationals Sun Arena at Times Square, Pretoria. The show will also be aired live on both M-Net and Mzansi Magic.

With nearly R3-million in prize money and sponsorships for this year’s pageant, it’s definitely one you won’t want to miss. This year’s newly crowned Miss SA will walk away with R1-million in cash as well as a car and other fabulous prizes. The runner-up takes home R250 000 in cash with all Top 16 finalists receiving R25 000.

This year five former Miss South Africa winners, known as the Big 5 – namely Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala (Miss South Africa 2010); Rolene Strauss (Miss South Africa & Miss World 2014); Liesl Laurie (Miss South Africa 2015); Ntandoyenkosi Kunene-Mthethwa (Miss South Africa 2016) and current Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green – have come together alongside the Miss South Africa Organisation to launch this year’s pageant in a fabulous new media campaign.

Rolene Strauss reveals 6 things she had to give up when she became Miss South Africa

2019-05-13 06:00 Johannesburg - Being a beauty queen may seem like it's all glitz and glamour, but according to former Miss SA and Miss World Rolene Strauss there were a few things she had to give up to fulfil her pageant duties.

Each of the Big 5 have shared their incredible Miss SA journey and are excited to welcome the newly crowned queen to the Miss SA sisterhood.

Miss South Africa has had an impressive few years on the international stage. Tamaryn Green was runner-up at the Miss Universe pageant last year while Rolene Strauss was crowned Miss World in 2014 and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters took the title of Miss Universe in 2017. Could you be next?
