Cape Town - Actor and musician Nkanyiso Bhengu believes that big people need to get more TV roles.

During an interview on Trending SA the actor said that big people are not getting enough airtime.

"Mostly if you watch TV, you don’t see a big guy or a big lady. There are big people everywhere. Variety is the spice of life. Put big people on," he said when asked about the changes he would like to see in showbiz.

Nkanyiso explained that big people are normally in funny roles and this needs to stop.

In a previous interview with Move! that actor revealed that he has created a façade to distract people from focusing on his chubby body.

"I think because of my weight I have created this personality to distract people from the image they see. But I think I always be like this."

He says when he launched an anti-obesity campaign in 2016 Walk It Off with Nkanyiso things didn’t go well for him.

"From 2016 when I launched that campaign things just stopped happening. I don’t know if the devil was weighting at the door when I said 'guys I’m tired of being obese and it’s not me alone.' Mostly South Africans, mostly women are obese. I didn’t like that. So, I said let’s us just walk to save ourselves. I’ve been wanting to lose weight for a long time but it’s so hard when you don’t have resources," he said.

The actor even went as far as to call on the health minister to help him with this campaign. So that he can go everywhere around the country encouraging people to live healthier lives. He wants people to stop suffering from chronic illnesses such as diabetes.
