Cape Town - Music genre Amapiano, is really dominating the music industry right now. Not even Tsonga disco king Papa Penny could resist its influence. Now, he has released an amapiano album titled Silema.

Speaking to Move! he admits that many were caught off-guard by his sudden genre switch. But according to him, it was a necessary move.

"I am trying to keep myself relevant in the music industry. I move with the times; I am not standing in one place," he says.

The Ahee Papa Penny reality tv star says he has been in the industry for over 30 years and has always been known for his dance music.

"I see most of our legends they are gone forever.  There is no old man who can’t sing any style, once you are an artist you can sing anything," he explains.

His favourite song on the album is called Silema. After having a social media quarrel earlier in the year with president of EFF, Julius Malema, he called him Silema. Move! asks him about the inspiration behind the song and he explains.

"Silema means bhari (fool) someone who does not use their brain. It is about people who tell other people that they are not educated," he says.

He has already performed some of the amapiano songs during his tour in Amsterdam last month and he says the audience loved it.

"I actually have a tour coming up in Europe and America. I respect what I do, and I respect other people that is why I am still successful.  If you play with people you play with everything, people are your boss," he adds.
