Actress Pearl Thusi was recently contacted by a person pretending to be DJ Sbu via Whatsapp – and as always with scammers, they wanted money.

On Saturday morning the mother-of-one took to her Twitter account to share screenshots of a conversation she had with someone, who she thought was Massive Metro radio host, DJ Sbu on Whatsapp.

In the chat, the person asked Pearl to register as a modelling line-up for the Motsepe Easter Festival, which Pearl knew nothing about. The scamster then urged the actress to pay a registration fee of R4 790 in order for the organisers to hire her, which was a little confusing and suspicious to Pearl.

It would seem Pearl called out the scammer before they quickly blocked her.

“Someone just tried to scam me using DJ Sbu’s phone... Then they blocked me,” she wrote Twitter.
