Sbahle Mpisane one year after her accident: “I shouldn’t be here, but I am here thanks to God Almighty”

It’s been a full year since fitness bunny Sbahle Mpisane survived a car accident that nearly took her life.

Sbahle took to social media to reflect on her recovery journey.

“I won’t go into the emotional sentiments this day brings me... I shouldn’t be here, but I am here thanks to God Almighty,” she said.

The star thanked all the women who have been there for her through her recovery.

 “I especially raise all the women who have touched my life in the past year; you all have walked this journey of near death with me, willing me to live and championing my recovery,” she said.

However, she made special mention on her of mother Shauwn Mpisane because she’s been her helping hand in getting back on her feet and face life again.

“A hearty note to my mother, Shauwn, thank you mama for being my mirror of resilience when I couldn’t find any in myself. You have dealt with many person blows, but with a smile and loving hand you put yourself aside to ensure I never give up on myself, whilst walking in heels in male dominated industries. You are a warrior queen that leads her cubs by example - everyday I strive to be close to the woman you are. Igama labafazi malibongwe,” she said.

The accident had left her with memory loss and it took some time for her to recover that blow.

“My long period of amnesia almost made me forget that I have brains in my head. My traumatic injuries on both my feet made me question if I can steer myself in any direction i choose. None the less, a few understood and pushed me to additionally reclaim myself and relook at my directions. Not all pieces are together yet but at the end they will be cheek by jowl,” she shared.
