Cape Town - Idols SA judge Unathi Nkayi has overcame her fear of snakes. This happened at the Idols studio when she carried a snake around her shoulders.

Even though Unathi was doing it to face her fear, it was also a teaching exercise for her son Sinako. In a video clip uploaded to Unathi’s Instagram page, she makes mention of how it's important to conquer your fear in order to achieve your dreams.

"Sinako, you know how scared I am of snakes, I’m doing this for you my baby. Know that you can achieve anything once your cross your fears," said the Kwa Nolali hit maker.

Her colleague Somizi Mhlongo, however, was not having it. During a recording of the show, Somizi left the room when the snake was brought in. He was quite frank about his anxiety around the slimy creature.

His photophobia even went to the extreme of selling a house he lived in because there was a snake found in the swimming pool.

"I have a huge phobia of snakes. I can’t even look at it in a picture, never mind on TV. So, you can imagine. I used to live somewhere and I was told that they found a snake in a pool. I literally sold the house," he said.
