Mr South Africa Heinrich Gabler has arrived in Manila, in the Philippines, ahead of Manhunt International 2020.
Manhunt International wears the crown as the world's first and most prestigious pageant for men. It started in 1988 when Alex Liu, pageant director of Metromedia Singapore, decided to stage the first male model contest in Singapore announcing a "Manhunt."
After being crowned Mr South Africa in June 2019, Heinrich spoke to Channel24, saying that he would be working extensively on his physical appearance ahead of the international pageant.
"I believe that I have the charisma, and I have been putting in a lot of work on my physical abilities. The other things come naturally to me," he said.
Taking to his Instagram, Henrich shared some behind-the-scenes from an underwear photo shoot. "Done and dusted," he captioned the photo.
Mr South Africa also shared several photos from the lead-up events on Facebook, including the formal wear photo shoot.
The winner will be crowned on Saturday, February 22 at the New Frontier Theatre in Quezon City.
Around 36 men from around the world are expected to participate in the competition. This will be the second time for the Philippines has hosted the competition. The first was in 1999.
