Johannesburg – SABC 3 has released a statement confirming that their broadcast of the Miss World pageant will be delayed.

Initially, the Miss South Africa Organisation had announced that the competition would be broadcast on Saturday at 15:00 on the channel (it will be taking place at 14:00 in London), but they have now also confirmed the change in time.

"SABC 3 will be airing a delayed broadcast of Miss World 2019 on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 17h00 to 20h00," the statement from the SABC reads.

With South Africa currently being two hours ahead of London, that means there will be a one-hour delay in the broadcast of the pageant.

"Miss World broadcast change. Please note that the Miss World 2019 competition airing time has been moved to 5pm on @SABC3, [sic]" the Miss South Africa organisation tweeted.

Sasha-Lee Olivier, who was the runner-up at the Miss South Africa pageant in August, will be representing the country at Miss World on Saturday.
