Johannesburg – According to reports, the 2019 Miss Universe pageant is taking place on 8 December in the USA.

The show will see current Miss Universe Catriona Gray of the Philippines hand over her title to her successor. But Catriona will not be passing on her crown, because the 2019 Miss Universe will be getting a brand-new headpiece bestowed upon her.

The Miss Universe Organisation announced earlier this year that they would be unveiling a new crown on the night of the pageant.

The last time the competition saw a crown change was in 2017 when Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned with the Mikimoto piece. In honour of the new crown, we take a look at some of the Miss Universe crowns over the years.
