Johannesburg – The 19th Miss Earth pageant took place on Saturday at the Cove Manila in the Philippines.
Regarded as one of the top four pageants in the world, ladies from across the globe competed to take the title of Miss Earth 2019, with the winner going on to become an official ambassador for a number of environmental protection campaigns.
Scooping the title this year was Miss Earth Puerto Rico, Nellys Pimentel.
The pageant also crowned a Miss Earth Air, Miss Earth Fire and Miss Earth Water. These titles were awarded to the rest of the ladies who placed in the top four.

Miss Earth 2019 will be the 10th winner of the pageant to wear the stunning crown designed by Ramona Haar.
According to the organisation's website, the crown "features various gemstones endemic to the countries participating in Miss Earth Pageant, which they donated as a symbol of cooperation and unity towards a universal goal of saving Mother Earth."
