Cape Town - Local Afrikaans singer Karlien van Jaarsveld and her newborn are finally on their way home.
Karlien and her rugby player husband Joe Breytenbach welcomed a baby girl named Elah on 9 October.
According to an Instagram post shared by Karlien's brother, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Elah was born two months earlier than expected.
Following the premature birth of Karlien's baby a story was published by Afrikaans newspaper Rapport stating that Karlien's baby - who weighed 2.2 kilograms at birth - was "big" for a premature baby.
Karlien's mother Ronel Brink wrote on Instagram that her family was "deeply hurt" by the newspaper's comments.
After spending 19 days in hospital, Elah and her mother are finally on their way home.
The reality star also has two sons with former rugby player Derick Hougaard. Derick and Karlien divorced in 2015.
