Anele rallies support for Alexandra fire victims

Johannesburg - Radio star Anele Mdoda has rallied behind victims of a shack fire that spread through Alexandra on Wednesday, reportedly destroying 500 structures.

The star sprung into action on social media when news of the fire broke, asking: "Guys the fire in Alex. how do we help? Like food for tonight at least? Is there a base?"

She later urged fans to drop off food at the fire station in Sandton. It was not long before Anele was able to get fans and organisations alike to step in and help.

The presenter retweeted posts from a few organisations, including Uber and Shoprite, who have pledged their support in aiding those devastated by the disaster.
