Babes Wodumo's powerful post on women abuse: 'We are not victims but survivors'

Cape Town - Local singer Babes Wodumo has finally broken her silence after a video of her boyfriend Mampintsha Maphumlo assaulting her went viral, causing national outrage on Monday.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Babes, who has since opened a case of assault against Mampintsha shared a poster of herself and late Karabo Mokoena - Who was murdered by her partner.

"I could have been next!!This could have been you,your sister,your daughter,your niece.....We are not victims but survivors,” she captioned the poster which also featured a "I’m walking away hashtag."

Mampintsha, who was arrested and then released on R2000 bail on the same day, has since also opened a case of assault against the Wololo hit maker, alleging that she was the one who attacked him first.
