Cape Town - After confirming his split from his wife of seven years, Enhle Mbali, Black Coffee has now opened up about the divorce.

Speaking during an interview with YFM’s DJ Sabby on Tuesday, the world-renowned DJ revealed how difficult it was for people to separate his brand from his personal life because they felt "entitled".

"I’ve tried by all means to separate them but somehow the public people make it one thing," he said when asked how he separates the life he lives as Nkosinathi compared to his Black Coffee life.

"…to a point where I feel sometimes it’s trolling. Like I look at some of the tweets that sometimes come to me and I feel that if I tweeted that to someone else I would be cancelled. Especially right now with everything that’s happening in my personal life. Even though we all made statements that this is a private matter, but people will still come because they feel entitled."

The We Dance Again hit-maker further went on to say that he didn’t owe anyone an explanation because he wasn’t the first person to get divorced.

"I don’t feel I owe anyone anything. I’m not the first person to be in this situation. No one is dead, no one is abused and nothing terrible happened. We just decided this is where we want to be, but the public feels like they want to have a say to a point where sometimes it’s disrespectful."

Earlier this month, when the news of their divorce broke, Enhle Mbali took to Instagram to confirm that she had filed for divorce from him in an emotional video.

"All I've ever tried to do was be a great wife. A supportive wife, one that is respectful. Not only to my partner and everyone that is around him...It is indeed a situation that no one wants to see themselves in, but here we are," she said in the video.

The rumours of a divorce between the pair had been circulating as early as July, when the DJ was accused of cheating on the actress with French socialite Cathy Lobé who is the ex-wife of international DJ superstar David Guetta. Another reason for their separation is reportedly interference in their marriage by the pair’s families.
