Bob Mabena takes over Power FM breakfast as the station changes line-up

Johannesburg – POWER 98.7 has shaken up their line-up to coincide with their fifth birthday. According to the station, the changes have “taken into account our audience feedback to strengthen our meaningful conversations while retaining key talent.” 

Some of the changes are as follows: 

As of 5 March, award-winning broadcaster Bob Mabena will take over POWER Breakfast weekdays from 06:00 to 09:00. Bob will be joined by current POWER Drive presenter Thabo Mduli. 

Thabiso TT Tema, the current host of POWER Breakfast, will take on POWER Drive with an extended hour from 15:00 to 18:00. 

With listeners expressing a need for in-depth business news and economic content, the station has answered with the current host of POWER Hour, Ayabonga Cawe who will take on an extended version of POWER Business from 18:00 to 20:00.

Andile Khumalo, the current host of POWER Business, will be waving goodbye to the station to focus on his growing business schedule, while POWER Perspective with JJ Tabane has been allocated an extra hour and will now air from 20:00 to midnight, Monday to Thursday. The rest of the daytime programming will remain unchanged. 

Changes to the weekend line-up include the introduction of another weekend talk show called POWER Weekend Breakfast, to be hosted by Pabi Moloi. POWER News Assignment editor Neo Leeuw will present POWER Week from 09:00 to midday on Sunday.
