Boity Thulo recently took to her Twitter timeline to issue an apology for homophobic statements she made almost a decade ago.
In the series of since-deleted tweets which were resurfaced by a tweep, the 28-year-old actress made derogative comments about homosexual on screen couples,
“This dude is exactly like Senzo. How creepy,” she wrote, making reference to the former Generations actor Thami Mngqolo. She then went on to add “And I think he might be gay. Lord forbid. Death.”
In another tweet Boity wrote, “What is up with the gay shit on these soapies??” she also described the gay couples as “undecided lesbians” and “niggas sucking tongues”.
The former Rockville actress who also recently debuted
her first rap single with Nasty C, also went on to reveal how
confused she was about, “who is male and who is female” making reference to a
gay couple.
After coming under fire with many of her fans Boity admitted in a recent tweet that a decade ago she was, “Naive, homophobic, young and didn’t know better,” before adding that she was embarrassed about her warped views on sexuality.
“I’m very sorry to every person that felt offended by those tweets,” Boity wrote in an apologetic tweet.
