Bonang Matheba to be honoured with first ever 5 For Changemaker Award

Johannesburg – TV personality Bonang Matheba will become the first ever recipient of the 5 For Changemaker Award at this year’s 5 For Change Black Tie Gala event.

The gala will make its debut in Johannesburg on 27 October, promising to be an unforgettable night that highlights five inspiring social enterprises, MC’d by Maps Maponyane, featuring a live performance by Lady Zamar and an unmissable luxury item auction and raffle.

According to a press statement, Bonang will be awarded “in recognition of her work as the founder of The Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund and for using her platform to advance social justice issues in South Africa and around the world.”

Speaking about why they chose the Top Billing presenter as the recipient of the award, 5 For Change Managing Director Robyn Deutsch said: “There is nobody in South Africa that better exemplifies the exact combination of social change leadership and a celebration of glamour that 5 For Change strives to bring to life each year with our Galas than Bonang. She is our dream choice to be our first 5 For Changemaker Award recipient and we are honoured she will join us to accept the award and help ring in what we know will be our grandest event yet!”

Tickets for the 5 For Change Black Tie Gala are available at Nutickets
