Bonang to be lead moderator at UN 'Leave No Girl Behind' discussion in NY

Johannesburg – Bonang Matheba is having a great week, and it’s only Tuesday.

First the star walked away as the Best Media Personality at the IARA Awards, and now she will have the opportunity to moderate a discussion at the UN General Assembly.  

According to a statement issued to the press, the TV personality will be the lead moderator at the UN General Assembly Leave No Girl Behind discussion in New York.  

The esteemed group of panelists taking part in the discussion will included president of France Emmanuuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister Theresa May and Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg. 

The discussion on girls education and empowerment will uncover ways of achieving quality education for all girls globally by 2030, and will also include a number of respected professionals in the field as well as advocates from Global Citizen who are arranging the panel discussion.  

Bonang is not the only South African who to attend a UN discussion this week, Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green also had the opportunity to address the UN General Assembly, discussing the Tuberculosis epidemic.
