Kwaito singer Sipho "Brickz" Ndlovu is waiting to hear how many years he will be spending in jail at the end of his trial. Pre- sentencing for his trial has started in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
MONEY ISSUES AND LEGAL CHALLENGES
Last month the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court denied him bail pending his sentence. Magistrate John Baloyi let known to the court that granting Brickz bail would not be in the interest of justice. “The presumption of innocence no longer applies. He has already been convicted. Rape is a big concern in the country. I am not convinced that the accused would attend his sentencing,” Baloyi told the court. Brickz was found guilty by the court in July for raping a 16 year old girl at his home in 2013. According to reports Brickz had to sell most of his assets to pay legal fees for the three-year-long trial.
HIS WIFE SPEAKS OUT
Speaking to Tshisa Live Brickz’s wife Nqobile Ndlovu says she is stressed because the musician is her husband and father of her kids. “The situation is weighing me down. Brickz is my husband, we have been together for a long time and he is the father of my kids," she revealed. She feels overwhelmed by the whole situating and that she cannot think straight. "I can't think straight when it comes to this hectic situation. I need strength from God to pull through, but I'm waiting for the sentencing," she added.
