Johannesburg – What do you get when you mix one of SA’s hottest online stores with one of SA’s coolest musos?
Well, The Juice went behind-the-scenes of Tellaman’s S.A.P video to find out. The star collaborated with online store Spree for his latest music video which features Da Les and Nasty C.
The #SpreeShopTheShoot project means that fans will be able to buy Tellaman’s S.A.P video outfits straight from the Spree site.
“It’s always been cool to work with Spree. Ever since I started working with them last year we’ve had a great relationship,” Tellaman tells us.
While on the set of his music video, we decided to pull the muso aside, squeezing in a few questions about his personal style.
Take a look below:
How would you describe you’re style?
Just simple, not in your face. I’m not a loud person, so even with clothes I like to keep it kind of simple and straight forward.
What’s the look you’re going for in this video?
Not too bright, but not too dark. Something that has a bit of colour. Because the song is about striking a pose, so right now the shoot is going to be based around photoshoots and stuff like that.
What is one essential item of clothing you take wherever you go?
Yes. I think my pair of Filas. I have a pair of Filas called Cage. Those are my special shoes I have to take wherever I go.
One item of clothing you bought that you look at now and go, “What was I thinking?”
One of those long t-shirts that’s like a young dress or something. At some point we thought they were cool because I don’t know what happened.
What is the one music video where the fashion really stood out for you?
I think a lot of Future’s music video are always cool for me. I feel like Future does not try too hard when it comes to putting his clothes together. I just like how he keeps it simple and yet so dope in terms of the visuals and stuff.
What was it like working with Nasty C and Da Les and how does their style differ from yours?
In term of fashion I feel like Da Les is too classy, he wears like your Gucci fur [or] something that you would think is extra for a normal person. I'm simple, I wear whatever. I feel like me and Nasty are a little bit similar in how we dress. But I feel like he likes tracksuits more and all those kinds of things so that's where we differ. But in terms of working with them it was dope.
