Cape Town - Rapper Cassper Nyovest has opened up about his struggles with loving himself – and it’s something we can all relate to.

The Gets Getsa hitmaker explained that for a long time he was afraid to hype himself up just in case he offends someone else. However, Mufasa says those days are over and he’s now his own biggest fan.

“It all starts in the mind. You have to take control of your mind. You can't let the world tell you how to feel about yourself. You have to be your biggest cheerleader,” he tweeted.

In a series of tweets the muso wrote about how he has managed to change and be more positive, adding that there’s nothing wrong with cheering yourself on – in fact he encourages everyone to do it.

“We are so mean to ourselves and it makes us feel shit. Then we take it out on other people who are also hurting and then it creates such a war between us when the whole problem started within us. It’s a cycle. Hurt people, hurt people. Love yourself. Gas yourself up.”

He then added that a person’s own happiness is all dependent on them and no one else.

“You need to do better by yourself. You need to say kind things to yourself. You need to say motivational things to yourself. You need to do things that please you the most selfishly so. You are responsible for your own happiness,” read his tweet.

Cassper’s transformation started with his body. He went from chubby to fit and the internet went crazy. Now that his body is chiselled, the man is achieving his peace of mind.
