Chad da Don says he 'doesn't lose sleep' over hate following Kelly Khumalo break-up while on vacation with new girlfriend

Cape Town - Local rapper Chad da Don is on vacation with his girlfriend Carlla Poggenpoel - and not phased by hateful comments about his previous relationship.

Chad and his ex-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo's tumultuous relationship was the talk of Twitter town in 2019, after Chad's public proposal on Top Billing.

The couple also got baptised, referred to each other as "husband and wife", and got matching tattoos to signify their commitment to each other.

But before the year came to an end, Chad confirmed a new romance with model Carlla Poggenpoel.

Speaking to Channel24, Chad's management team said: Carlla is a lovely and friendly girl. She studies art and supports Chad in all his endeavours. His current relationship does not affect his relationship with Kelly, nor does it affect her relationship with him."

While visiting The Elephant Sanctuary in Hartbeespoort on Wednesday, the rapper responded to an Instagram user who said he had noticed the hate Chad had received following his breakup, but is glad to see the rapper happy.

Chad responded, by thanking the user for their kind words, saying: "Lions don't [lose] sleep over the opinions of sheep."

Chad's mother, who he is very close with, also joined the couple on their outing.
