Cape Town - While many are sending birthday wishes to kwaito star, Arthur Mafokate, singer Cici is fighting for justice to be served.

Taking to Instagram CiCi posted a picture of an X-ray that shows screws that have been inserted into her body after suffering from alleged physical abuse by the kwaito star.

“Dear @Arthurmafokate Sir how do you maintain not guilty when these are the screws i have as a result of what you have done to me. Where was the constitution when you violated me ,” she asked in the picture’s caption.

In an emotional court testimony in March, CiCi described how she was dragged on the street by Arthur and had to undergo a pelvic replacement procedure as a result.

CiCi and Arthur have been in and out of court and although Arthur has maintained his innocence by pleading not guilty and even pressing counter charges of assault against CiCi, it seems that the kwaito star’s reputation is still at stake.

After making headlines for joining the #100menmarch against the abuse of women and children, Arthur has withdrawn from participating in the event due to alleged threats to his safety and opposition from the public.

“I have decided to no longer participate in the #100menmarch to which I was invited to participate through RISA, SAMRO and SAACYF, due to the opposition I have received for participation as well as threats I, and my immediate family have received,” he wrote in a press release posted to his Instagram account.

“I stand resolute of the rights of women and children and all activities aimed at combatting gender violence and abuse. That I stand accused of having perpetrated violence against a woman does not mean I am guilty thereof.”
