Comedians to be honoured at the 6th annual Comics Choice Awards

Johannesburg – The annual Savanna Comics’ Choice Awards (CCA’s) is back to honour some of South Africa’s funniest men and women.

At a press lunch in Johannesburg on Wednesday, the nominees for the 6th annual CCA’s were announced, with big names like Marc Lottering, Loyiso Gola and Tumi Morake making the list, as well as newcomers like Snooze Kambuwa.

With only 10 awards available on the night, comedians waited in baited breathe to find out who made the list of nominees chosen by their peers.

Nominated for "Comic of the Year," one of the biggest awards of the night, is Loyiso Gola, Skhumba Hlope, Tumi Morake, Mashabela Galane, and Carvin Goldstone.

While comedy legend Casper De Vries was honoured with the "LifeTime Achievement Award."

The public are also welcome to have their say by voting for their favourite comedian in the "Savanna Audience Choice Comic" category.

The CCA’s takes place on the 3rd September, hosted by Rob van Vuuren.
