Cape Town - TV personality Connie Ferguson's personal belongings got stolen during a stampede, following an alleged "armed robbery" at Greenacres Shopping Centre (Port Elizabeth) on Saturday, 3 September.
Greenacres Shopping Centre released the following statement on Facebook, "Please note that there was a false alarm triggered at the mall this afternoon (Sat 3 Sept). There is no need for worry or panic. We apologize for any inconvenience caused."
They went on to say that a shopper broke the 'break-glass' on the fire alarm next to Mojo's, which resulted in the alarm being set off to evacuate the building. Regarding the alleged "gunshots", the management team explained that the an employee dropped the flap of the Info Kiosk door, which sounded very similar to gunshots.
Connie, who lost her purse and cellphone during the scuffle, took to Twitter and spoke out about the ordeal. "If anyone tries to sell you this Tumi Purse in PE it's most likely a stolen item? Mine? & a rose gold iPhone 6 Plus?"
