PICS: Demi-Leigh, DJ Tira and David Kau support Charlize Theron at her fundraiser in New York

Cape Town - South African celebrities Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, DJ Tira and David Kau, stepped out on Tuesday, to support Charlize Theron at her Africa Outreach fundraiser in New York.

Aside, from the familiar local faces, the Oscar-winning actress was also joined by celebrity friends like Amy Schumer, Drew Barrymore, and Awkwafina.

The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) invests in African youth and their ability to keep themselves safe from HIV/AIDS. Charlize created CTAOP in 2007 with the hope of making a difference in fighting HIV in South Africa.

Demi-Leigh shared a video of Charlize talking about the theme of the evening, ubuntu. "I am because you are. It's a belief in our universal bond as humans that we're all interconnected," Charlize explained.

The Bombshell actress also shared a video of Boyz II Men performing at fundraising and called it the "highlight of her life."

"Such a great evening supporting the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Program that benefits so many women back home in South Africa," Demi-Leigh captioned an Instagram photo.
