Demi-Leigh looks pretty as a petal in Miss Universe national costume

Cape Town - Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters revealed her Miss Universe national costume at Time Square Casino in Johannesburg on Thursday.

The costume which was inspired by South Africa's national flower, the protea, was created by Malikah Hajee and Lloyd Kandlin from the Costume Department in Cape Town.

ICYMI: Miss SA 2017 runner-up Adè van Heerden, who is set to compete for the Miss World title on 18 November in China, revealed her traditional costume during a lavish event on 16 October. 

About the Miss Universe pageant Demi-Leigh says: "My preparations started when I was crowned Miss South Africa 2017. Just as with the Miss South Africa platform, I understand the responsibility of being Miss Universe and the impact it has on millions of lives."
