Cape Town - Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is embracing her American fiancé Tim Tebow's family traditions and tucked into a Thanksgiving feast.
In the United States, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.
Today, people celebrate Thanksgiving for a multitude of reasons. For some, it remains a way to express gratitude for the harvest or to a higher power. For others, it's a holiday built upon being with family and simply enjoying delicious food.
"I'm so grateful to be learning new traditions, gaining new friendships and adapting to new cultures," Demi-Leigh wrote on Instagram.
Last year, was the first time that she experienced a traditional Thanksgiving with her then-boyfriend.
In some households, each person is expected to say what they are thankful for. "To my American friends and soon to be family, I love you all very much, and I'm so grateful for you," she said.
With all the festivities, Demi-Leigh didn't take any photos, but she shared what was left over from the meal with her followers.
She said: "We had so much fun with friends and family that we completely forgot to take any photos, but here's what's left of the pumpkin and key lime pies."
