Demi-Leigh reflects on her Miss Universe journey

Johannesburg – Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters on Monday reflected on her journey as Miss Universe, celebrating the anniversary of the day she took home the prestigious title.

Sharing footage from the winning night on Instagram, Demi-Leigh wrote: “On this day a year ago my life changed forever. What a defining and life changing moment it was being crowned Miss Universe 2017. Forever grateful to everyone who believed in me and my dreams just as much as I did. South Africa, thank you for trusting me to represent you. I’m still in awe of God’s grace and the surprises he blesses us with.”

On 17 December Demi-Leigh will hand over the crown to her successor at the 67th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand.

The beauty queen has already packed up the New York apartment she lived in as she prepares for her reign to come to an end.
