DJ Black Coffee suggested separation to Enhle Mbali via email - reports

Cape Town - DJ Black Coffee (Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo) spoke to City Press about his much-publicised divorce from his wife, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.

In the interview, the award-winning DJ said that he "tried everything" but failed to save his marriage.

Speaking to City Press, Black Coffee confirmed that he was the one who suggested a separation.

According to the article, in April he "sent a lengthy email" to her in which he suggested that their marriage would benefit from a  separation.

The DJ declined to comment on allegations of infidelity or reports that he fathered two illegitimate children - aged 12 months and 14 months.

Following the explosive article, "Black Coffee" and "Enhle," topped the Twitter trends.

Black Coffee and Enhle tied the knot during a traditional wedding ceremony in 2011 and celebrated their union with a white wedding in 2018.

The couple have two children together, and the DJ has two children from a previous relationship.

City Press first reported in July that the couple were allegedly heading for divorce court, citing the DJs rumoured infidelities and meddling family members as the reason for Enhle serving her husband with divorce papers.

On 11 November, Enhle broke her silence on Instagram, saying: "All I've ever tried to do was be a great wife. A supportive wife, one that is respectful. Not only to my partner and everyone that is around him. [sic]"
