Cape Town - As crime statistics continue to increase in South Africa, it comes as no surprise that no one is immune to it – including celebrities.

Popular House musician, DJ Shimza allegedly became a victim of a carjacking on Monday when he discovered that his black Mercedes Benz G63 had been stolen out of his garage at his Blue Valley Golf Estate home between Midrand and Centurion.

In a desperate attempt to recover the vehicle, the DJ took to his Twitter page to plead with fans to contact the police or him if they had any information regarding his stolen vehicle.

“My car has been stolen out of my garage from Blue Valley Golf Estates in Centurion, license plate FN 23 MB GP, please contact @sapoliceservice or call 0732568494 should you have any information that may lead to recovery of the car,” he wrote.

While many fans sympathized with the 39-year-old, others were more concerned with the security at the estate and were convinced that the carjacking had been an inside job.

Attempts by DRUM to reach the Midrand Police Station communications officer were unsuccessful at the time of publishing.
