Duanne Olivier pops the question

Cape Town - Protea cricket player, Duanne Olivier, asked his girlfriend, Casey Leigh van Dyk, to marry him on Saturday.

The couple have been dating for four years.

The athlete told Netwerk24 that she didn't expect it all.

According to Huisgenoot Duanne arranged for a helicopter to fly over the beach at Port Elizabeth. Earlier that day he wrote in the sand, "Will you marry me?"

When flying the helicopter over the beach, the unsuspecting Casey saw the words written in the sand and Duanne surprised her with the ring in his pocket.

"Thank you for choosing me every single day. I promise to choose you and love you for the rest of my life," Casey wrote on Facebook.
