Johannesburg - It’s been almost a year since actress Simphiwe Ngema lost her husband Dumi Masilela who was killed in a hijacking.

Although Dumi passed away at a young age, his wife finds console in the fact that he lived a full life while he was still alive.

The actress opened up about her husband on Trending SA on Wednesday. She believes that her husband had a lot of talent and that he continues to inspire her.

“The one thing that people didn’t know is that, although he passed away at 29, he lived a full life. Dumi was very talented and he was good at everything, he played all the instruments. I thought I was talented until I met Dumi. He was a professional soccer player. He was able to use all his talents on professional platforms.  How many people can say that? So for me, he really really lived and he will forever remain an inspiration to me,” she said.

The actress revealed that she is currently working on a book in tribute to her late husband.  “I’m writing about my experience, my process of healing. I hope that one day it will heal somebody else,” said Simphiwe.

She is also considering doing an album on songs that Dumi had written for her.
