Everything you need to know about Emmarentia Live

Cape Town - On Tuesday, 9 August beautiful Emmarentia Dam in Gauteng will be host to five of South Africa’s best and brightest musical acts for the Emmarentia Live music festival.

There will be something for everyone with house, afro pop and so much more on display.

In case you didn't know: 9 August is Women’s day, a public holiday, in South Africa. This is in remembrance of the more than 20 000 women who marched to the Union Buildings in protest of the proposed amendments to the Urban Areas Act of 1950, commonly referred to as the "pass laws".

Here’s a list of the five acts that will be rocking the stage, info about the festival where to get tickets.

The 5 hot local acts at Emmarentia Live:

1. Freshlyground.

These legends of SA music, led by singer Zolani Mahola, have made hit after hit; making them a crowd favourite before they’ve even stepped on stage. Ticket holders can look forward to singing along to well-known songs like Doo Be Doo, I’d Like and Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) while basking in the serene settings.
