Eye surgery forces Hugh Masekela to postpone collab with Riky Rick

Johannesburg – Postponing his planned collab with Riky Rick, SA Jazz legend Hugh Masekela is scheduled to take some time off to have surgery performed on his eye. 

"The Out Of The Blue collaboration between Hugh Masekela and Riky Rick due to take place next week 20 September has unfortunately been postponed after Hugh's management advised us that he has to undergo an eye operation, which will necessitate him taking some time off to recuperate," a press statement from Standard Bank reads. 

The collaboration was part of a project for the 20th addition of the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Music Festival. 

The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz festival takes place in Johannesburg from 28 to 30 September, with performances by the likes of Thandiswa Mazwai and Tutu Puoane. Tickets are available at Computciket.
