Family of Akhumzi Jezile are 'trying to cope amidst grief'

Cape Town - Percy Vilakazi, the spokesperson for the family of deceased TV personality Akhumzi Jezile, spoke to The Juice about how the family is coping following his tragic death.

Jezile died at the age of 29 in a car accident which claimed the lives of 5 people on Saturday.

When asked how the family are dealing with the loss, he says: "We are all really trying hard, amidst all the grief, all we can do is keep trying and moving forward."

Vilakazi says that Jezile's mother arrived in Johannesburg on Monday. She was travelling from the Eastern Cape.

He says that seeing her meet Jezile's friends were "heartbreaking". "We had all been at the house since the tragedy happened, but seeing her meet his friends made it a reality. It was a painful experience."

He adds: "But we believe in God and have faith that things will get better."

The memorial and funeral details are still to be communicated.
