In a video recorded for the Miss Universe Organisation, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters talks about some of her favourite things as she takes a walk through the streets of New York City.

The model and former Miss Universe, who recently married US sports star Tim Tebow, touches on everything from her favourite item of clothing to her love of Cape Town.

Here are four things we learned about Demi from that clip:

1. Her biggest fear

"I'm terrified of moths – don't ask me why. I love butterflies, but I cannot stand a moth," Demi says.

2. Her favourite food

Always proudly South African, Demi says braaivleis is at the top of her list when it comes to food.

"And I love a good oxtail," she adds.

3. Her favourite city

She may be in the Big Apple, but in Demi's eyes, no city can compare to Cape Town.

"It's my favourite city in the whole wide world. It's so beautiful. It's close to where I grew up, and I've just never been to a place like it before," she says.

4. Her favourite fan moment

While she has many loyal and loving fans, one sticks out in particular. The beauty queen describes how a fan from the Philippines made a tie with her face on it which he wore when he met her.

"I arrived there, and I saw somebody with a tie with my face on it. Are you serious?!" she says excitedly.
