Final goodbyes as Dumi Masilela is laid to rest

Cape Town – The funeral service for slain Rhythm City actor Dumi Masilela is underway in Kempton Park.

The multi-talented star died on Wednesday 2 August following an attempted hijacking. The former Idols SA contestant was shot in the upper body and then later died in the hospital as a result of his injuries.

The funeral service follows a memorial service which was held to honour the star on Wednesday at the same venue in Kempton Park, Hope Restoration Ministries.

While friends and fans could tune in to watch a live stream of the funeral on ANN7's YouTube channel and on their DStv channel, 405, the broadcast stopped for about 30 minutes without any reason given as to why.

People who were watching the broadcast have taken to Twitter to express their anger at ANN7 for stopping the broadcast to air their entertainment show, Sizzle. The broadcast has since started again, but seems to be switching back and forth between news inserts and the funeral service.

Some Twitter users also expressed their anger at e.tv and ENCA for not broadcasting Dumi's funeral.
