Looking for something to do this weekend? We've got you covered.

With a ban on large gatherings during the national lockdown, many events have made the move to the virtual sphere.

From attending a concert in your living room, to taking part in an online fitness class, here's what you can get up to this weekend.

Friday, 8 May

* Catch YoungstaCPT at Good Night Fridays

The V&A Waterfront's Good Night Fridays will see rapper YoungstaCPT, DJ/producer Sir Vincent, and graffiti artist Skubalisto team up for a show like no other.

While Sir Vincent will play host for the virtual event, YoungstaCPT is expected to deliver a stellar performance, and Skubalisto will be right there, creating one of his masterpieces during the show.

The concert is free and will be stream online from 19:00.

Details here.

* Learn pole dancing

Join The Pole Project at and learn some exotic floorwork between 19:30 and 21:00 on Friday. Cost to join the session is R450 per person. Email info@thepoleproject.co.za to find out more and to book your spot.

Saturday, 9 May

* Mi Casa live

Celebrating ten years since their debut track, These Streets, Mi Casa announced that they would get together on Saturday to perform live for their fans via Facebook.

According to the group's Instagram page, they had a performance scheduled in Carbo Verde for this weekend, but of course, things have now changed as we continue to battle the coronavirus worldwide.

"We will be performing live on our FB and we taking things to a whole new level ... we gonna be all together so it's gonna be pretty emotional and you can imagine how excited we are to actually jam together again!" the message on Instagram reads.

Watch Mi Casa at 21:00 via their Facebook page on Saturday.

* Join a free boxing class

Want to give boxing a go? Why not give the Mojo Boxing and Fitness class a try. The session is 60 minutes long, and while the class is free, the company has pointed out that any donations will be welcomed.

The class takes place at 10:15. Log on to Mojo Boxing's website to make your booking.

* Want more fitness related activities?

Make sure you tune into Liezel van der Westhuizen's Daily Fitness Guide every morning at 06:00 on Facebook and Instagram, and again on KFM94.5 at 06:40, for info on daily virtual fitness activities you can join.

* Dance along to Black Coffee

It's week six of Black Coffee's Home Brew live stream event. The DJ has been using the virtual show to raise funds for different organisations who are helping with the battle against the coronavirus.

This week fund will go toward the Gift of the Givers foundation "whose COVID-19 response include getting the needed medical supplies into the hands of frontline workers who need it as well as providing basic food and water supply to those in need," he wrote on Instagram.

Those who want to donate to the cause can do so here. Tune in to the show on Saturday at 21:00 via Black Coffee's Facebook page.

Daily

* Go on Safari

&BEYOND, in partnership with WildEarth, will be taking nature lovers on a virtual safari every day during the lockdown. The game drives take place twice a day, at sunrise and sunset, in real-time. Those who are keen on going along for the ride will be guided by experts, and are also able to ask questions.
