Hijackers hold gun to Amor Vittone’s head

Cape Town – South African singer and presenter Amor Vittone survived an attempted hijacking on Monday night while driving from Pretoria to Joburg.

The Juice spoke to Amor’s mother Delyse Vittone who confirmed the news saying: "Yes that’s right. She was driving from judging a show in Pretoria on her way back home to Johannesburg on the N14 at about 19:00 and was on the phone with me when it happened.

"They smashed the front windscreen and took her handbag which was on the passenger seat. They held a gun to her head.

"I was on the phone with her and she started screaming. I told her 'just keep going, just drive'. Then she called the emergency services and they met her at home and took her statement. It could have been much worse. I told her 'why did you take that road?' Now we know to always take the highway.”

Delyse added that "the car she is driving is sponsored. She only got it two weeks ago. They’re fixing it now. She’s traumatised".

Amor was not physically hurt in the incident.
