Johannesburg - Singer Donald can thank his lucky stars after R&B musician Kenny Lattimore came to his rescue when he suffered an anxiety attack in America.

Speaking on #WTFTumi last week, Donald recalled how Kenny once took him to hospital when he was on the streets of Los Angeles alone and was suddenly hit by an anxiety attack.

According to the Landela hit-maker, he didn’t know he was having an anxiety attack after almost bursting into tears from pain.

With no one else to contact, he called up Kenny – who arrived and took him to hospital.

“It was so painful. I actually wanted to cry. It was my first time experiencing anxiety and I had no idea what that meant. I had an anxiety attack in LA. I was all alone," he told Tumi Morake.

Kenny, who also appeared on the episode, explained how difficult it was to find a hospital that could urgently help the distressed singer.

“I picked him up and took him to the hospital. We went to three hospitals. It was Sunday and everything was piled up with people. We took him to an urgent care [clinic] but he still wasn’t well so I took him to a more established hospital.”

Kenny, who developed a friendship with Donald back in 2014 after their collaboration, is currently in the country to perform on Freedom Day in Pretoria.

Speaking to Move about his performance, the For You singer said he would be belting out songs from his new album, Vulnerable, as well as fan favourites.

“This show I’m about to do is going to be more about my new album but it will not leave the fans who have been with me disappointed.”
