Johannesburg - While many would gun for the role of Brenda Fassie in a biopic of the late singer, Pearl Thusi isn’t one of them.
#BrendaFassie has been trending on Twitter since news of the movie based on the superstar was said to be in the works. Idols SA presenter ProVerb even took to Twitter to ask tweeps who they’d love to see play MaBrrr, and the suggestions were far and wide.
But one fan thought the iconic role should be played by none other than actress Pearl.
“I believe you should play Brenda Fassie,” Monsieur Licorne tweeted.
Pearl quickly responded by saying that she was honoured by the suggestion, but “I’m honoured you’d think this babe – I believe I could but I also just don’t have the right look for it. If they make it I hope they find the perfect person though”.
The UK-based film and television production company Showbizbee is rumoured to be currently working on the MaBrrr biopic.
