Idols winner still on a high

Johannesburg - Idols SA season 11 winner Karabo Mogane gave his fans an extraordinary performance on his first unplugged tour on Wednesday evening.

Dineo Ranaka hosted and emceed the session at Club Neh in Sandton.

Guests and Mogane were shuttled to the venue in Ford cars, as he is the Ford brand ambassador.

Social media was abuzz with the hashtag MattersOfTheHeart trending all over social media, with fans affirming his performances.

The muso performed hit singles from his latest album, Matters of the Heart, and some songs from his debut album Love is a Verb, which he recorded after winning Idols in 2015. He kept guests on their feet when he performed his lead single Ngifuna Lo.

The singer and song writer has performed in places such as Mauritius and plans to visit other African cities to introduce his music style and talent.

Talking to City Press about his unplugged performance, he said that he was very happy and he appreciated the love that he got from all over the country.

The event was attended by his family, industry friends and fellow Idols contestants, with the likes of talented queen Amanda Black in the audience.

“I am so grateful for the support that everyone is giving me,” he said, adding that he appreciated the reviews of his musical journey.

“It wasn’t easy for me to be where I am right now. It took a lot of hard work and determination,” he said.

He added that even with glamour and popularity that people see on social-media platforms, it still takes discipline and a tough skin in order to make it and survive in the entertainment industry.

The musician just scored a new gig at the University of Johannesburg’s radio station UJFM.

Mogane’s upcoming show, which will start at the beginning of November, is called Matters of the Heart – named after his album.
