Cape Town - Just a year after launching her underwear-line, TV and radio personality Thando Thabethe has done it again – this time launching a new swimwear range, adding to her lingerie and shapewear brand, Thabooty's.
Speaking to DRUM, the 28-year-old actress says the Summer 2018/19 collection is all about “celebrating women's bodies in all shapes, sizes, and shades, staying true to the foundation of the Thabooty's brand.”
"A bikini body is anybody in a bikini and not just for petite bodies,” she adds.
The actress went on to explain that the idea to include all sizes came from her Thabooty’s consumers.
"A number of 'Thabooty Boo's' (as consumers of the brand are referred to) would comment on social media and let us know that they too wanted the items but their sizes were not available, and so we had to listen, it's very important to me that every woman feels included."
The 5FM presenter says the swimwear is about saying to women: “We need to celebrate our bodies”.
“You don't hear men speaking about a 'swim shorts body'. They just get into their gear confidently without having to live up to ridiculous standards of society,” she adds.
