Cape Town -  Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is reportedly taking legal action against a Twitter user who claimed they kissed the footballer "for two hours."

The tweet, which has since been deleted, shows a photo of Itumeleng and a mystery woman with the caption: "Now my lips are purple from kissing for 2 hours."

The Twitter user deactivated their account following public backlash.

The sport star and his wife, Sphelele Makhunga, recently tied the knot and are expecting their first child together.

Itumeleng retweeted messages of support from fans, saying he has "mastered" dealing with "attention seekers."

Several Twitter users suggested that Itumeleng take legal against the above mentioned Twitter account, to which he responded: "My lawyers are on it."

Channel24 reached out to Itumeleng for comment and will update the article should more information become available.
