Johannesburg – In the wake of the terrible storm hitting Cape Town, local muso Jeremy Loops has asked fans to step in and help those in need.
Taking to Instagram the singer appealed to fans to help the “many homeless people whose lives are quite literally at risk when the weather takes a turn like this.”
“For a donation of just R12, you can ensure a bed is provided in a homeless shelter for a person for a night,” Jeremy wrote, adding that he made a donation of 500 Euros that provided 20 people with beds for five days each.

*Help Save Lives For Just $1/€1/£1* Cape Town, my home town, is experiencing the worst storm we've seen in 30 years. Trees uprooted, roads closed, flash floods everywhere, homes destroyed, and, tragically, 8 people have lost their lives already to the storm. Sadly, with South Africa having one of the highest inequality rates in the world, our city has many many homeless people whose lives are quite literally at risk when the weather takes a turn like this. You can help make a difference. For a donation of just $1/€1/£1/R12, you can ensure a bed is provided in a homeless shelter for a person for a night. I donated €100, to provide 20 people with beds for 5 days each, and the JL community on Facebook has come together big time, donating in excess of €500 and counting already. That's an extra 100 people in beds for 5 nights! I'd love to see our Insta community step up too! The link to donate is in my bio. If you are able to donate, without specifying the amount you donated, just reply 'done' and where in the world you are in the comments section. Alternatively, tag in your friends to let them know about this cause. It would be dope if we could as a community raise €1000+ in an evening.
