JR on SA music industry: We lack producers!

Johannesburg – Local Rapper JR set off on a mini Twitter rant on Tuesday aimed at local artists who are “too good” to be produced.

The star seemed passionate when he explained that the “game is literally on it’s knees”.

This one tweet led to many others, with JR eventually calling out local artists and comparing them to international stars.

“Too many SA artists are “too good” to be produced… Well, Kanye ain’t, Beyonce ain’t, Bruno Mars ain’t, Adele ain’t, so who are YOU to be?” he questioned.

The rapper added that he had spoken about the state of SA music with American music industry executive Sylvia Rhone. The conclusion he came to? “WE LACK PRODUCERS!”
