Cape Town - Babes Wodumo has been under scrutiny recently, after posting a video on her Instagram, making fun of Lady Zamar’s acne.
And even though, at first, she insisted her account was hacked, and it wasn’t her who posted that malicious video.
Many people didn’t believe her, including Lady Zamar herself. But when she finally admitted to bullying the Collide singer, Babes angered a lot more people.
Speaking to DRUM in the latest issue, Babes admitted that it was her who made fun of Lady Zamar’s acne and called her all sorts of horrible names.
Now, in an interview with DRUM, Lady Zamar says she was horrified when she heard what Babes Wodumo called her. "I didn’t even know the meaning of the names she called me, but I eventually learned that one of them is a b***h who goes around sleeping with different men to the point where her vagina is worn out," Lady Zamar tells us.
"And I was horrified, how could she be so cruel, to invest so much time and effort just to be just a mean person? I couldn’t believe it," she continues.
Lady Zamar admits the things Babes said about her in the video hurt her, but what hurt her more, is how she lied and told the whole country that it wasn’t her. “She not only disrespected me, but fans as well, and you just don’t do that – you’re undermining so many people, that’s just wrong.”

"What people don’t understand about being a judge on Idols is that we’re given a brief that clearly explains the type of show it is; it’s a pop show, and there’s a specific artist who can fir that role. That’s not to say other people aren’t talented, but what’s the point of letting, say a mbhaqanga artist go through, for example, if you know they will be eliminated in the next round? Those are the things people don’t see," Lady Zamar explains.
"There are so many incredibly talented people who have come to audition but didn’t make it because of the nature of the show."
In the article with DRUM, Babes Wodumo’s sister and manager, Ndumiso Simelane told us the video wasn’t meant to go online, but it doesn’t matter now because 'Babes called Lady Zamar to apologise, I also called her to apologise,' she said.
But Lady Zamar wants everyone to know that that’s a lie – "None of them reached out to me, nobody called me to apologise, they don’t even have my number, so that’s a lie. Babes Wodumo’s sister is a liar," she stresses.
However, she insists she doesn’t want an apology from Babes. "It’s not important to me, I don’t know why she doesn’t like me, and I honestly don’t care. I’m going to avoid her as I’ve always done – what she said might’ve hurt me, but it doesn’t define me, we get up and do better things, choose to be better people. If more people cared about being good people, the world would be such a better place."
Lady Zamar is focused on her career and her upcoming concerts in September.
"The Parliament is a free concert I’m doing with some talented people in the industry, just to thank my fans for all their support and to accommodate those who don’t always have the money to come to my shows, and those who are underage."
"It’s crazy actually, the tickets were all gone in the first five hours – people are very excited, I am too!" she says, beaming.
