Mafikizolo’s work to be displayed at the Grammy Museum

Cape Town - Monde Twala - who became vice president of BET, Youth & Music at VIMN Africa in March - after 16 years at e.tv- revealed that SA band Mafikizolo are to be showcased at the Grammy museum.

In a statement to the press, Twala said: "It’s fantastic to see the influence of African artists and music amplified in this unique exhibition in this iconic setting. We are excited about working with the Grammy Museum to create this fascinating tribute to legendary, traditional and contemporary African musicians."

Nhlanhla Nciza - who is one half of the duo which includes Theo Kgosinkwe - posted a statement regarding the honour on her Instagram account.

Starting on Friday, 24 June The Grammy Museum and BET exhibit - housing the group’s work - titled Sounds of Africa will showcase and celebrate the unique diversity of African music including winners and nominees of both the Grammy Awards and the BET Awards.

The display will be an extension of the 16th annual BET Awards and the 2016 BET Experience at L.A. LIVE.
