Mandoza's manager shares the star's final moments

Cape Town – The Juice spoke to Mandoza’s former manager Vaughn Eaton about the South African music legend’s final days and about receiving the sad news of his friend and former client’s death.

Eaton was Mandoza’s business and personal manager from 1999 to 2009.

Vaughn told The Juice that he saw Mandoza only last week; during the visit the musician was making plans for when he returned to full health and was due to receive more chemotherapy later that week.

It was also during this visit that Vaughn learnt that Mandoza had gone blind because the cancerous tumour was now resting on his optic nerve.

Then on Sunday, Eaton said that he got a call from musician Zola asking him to phone Mandoza’s wife Mpho.

Mpho told Eaton that Mandoza was unable to breathe so she rushed him to hospital, but just as she got to the gates of the hospital, Mandoza died.
